:P I have an origional CS 6/1 and the valves are .0175 below the surface, the book says .01 max !!!! Is it possible to take this much off and recut the seats or is this to much ?

You'd be best off either getting new valves or getting the existing ones built up on the seat and re-grinding. I doubt that the difference you quote would be a big problem in normal running.
I think also you may be able to get seats fitted if you know a good engine repair shop that can supply basic seats and fit them.
Don't go taking too much off the head unless absolutely necessary.

:) ;) ;) ;) :D 8) Hi just to let you all know i had new valve seats fitted at £70.50, if i could i would show you its smling face, but it wouldn,t pose with a smile. Still at £70.50 it knocked the smile off mine for a bit, but then i smle because i still have an origional head and years of wear available to me. Thanks for all the advice.
