I wonder if they will be imported into the US, and if so, would the EPA test emissions on the main fuel or the auxiliary (starting) fuel?
-
Very good question.....
The local CAT service guy who comes to the mine wants to see this engine too.
I asked Hans why does Duetz make a diesel that burns veg oil full warrentyand the best CAT can do is build and engine that wears out before warrenty and smells bad ( he gigled )

The EPA doesn't care what else you may run in your engine, they will only test on diesel fuel.

EPA regulations only apply in the USA AND they are superceeded by the Mining act and regulating body in both the US and Canada ( most countires in fact its a generaly higher standard )

Oh yes The Mining Act. On private property this applies pretty well. The wording goes something like, "Go mind your own business, this is mine!" Or how about, "Try mining your own f'ing business!"

Because Cat is earning profits on a reputation they built 30+ years ago. They are now building their machines out of parts from the same places we buy Listeroids and Changfas from. Bye Bye American Pie.............
